InteguRx Therapeutics is developing a transdermal patch that will deliver relatively constant levels of apixaban to the circulation for 3-7 days, without the plasma peaks associated with oral administration, with the goal of potentially decreasing the occurrence of major bleeding events on apixaban therapy. We are developing two products that will deliver therapeutic doses of medicine via the transdermal route; one to avoid the need to ingest and retain an oral dosage form in the midst of nausea and vomiting, and the other to eliminate potentially troublesome concentration peaks and adverse events associated with oral pharmacokinetics.
